If you are concerned about your property taxes being to high, this is the meeting to attend. August 28th at 1:30 pm at the Washington County Courthouse will be the county budget hearing. If you feel taxes are getting too high, you need to attend and let the commissioners know. With inflation causing everything to cost more, such as the cost of fuel, food and so many other things that affect our lives. The county taxes are becoming a burden. Wouldn’t you like to raise your wages every time things start costing more? Most of us have had our income go down, our elected officials just raise taxes and pay themselves more. Be informed, look at the budget, come to the meeting with ideas where you feel the taxes are excessive and can be lowered. You can get copies from the clerk’s office at the courthouse. Please come and attend, let our commissioners know how you feel about the taxes collected. If only a few people come, it won’t make a difference, but if we pack the house, they will take note and start cutting our taxes. The Idaho Republican platform, Sec. 2 A. says; “We support lower federal, state and local taxes. High taxes are a burden on businesses, families, and individuals.” This is your opportunity to let our local government officials know how you feel about the taxes in our county.
