Dear Editor,
I would like to recognize and thank Dr. Mark Pritchard for his years of service to our community, our families, and to the Weiser School District.
On June 12 th , Dr. Pritchard announced his retirement from the Weiser School District Board of Trustees after nearly 25 years of service. During his tenure he helped influence the hire of many great teachers and staff, supported program improvements at all buildings, and assisted with the passing of bonds and levies that have helped build and maintain programs, facilities, and opportunities for our students. He provided strength, guidance, and wisdom during downturns in the economy, and he helped to guide the district through challenging events such as what was experienced during COVID.
Dr. Pritchard consistently demonstrated wisdom, fiscal responsibility, expectations for success and achievement by students, unwavering support for students and District staff, and he proved to be a huge supporter of athletics and other extra-curricular opportunities for students. He was (is) often seen at athletic events and other student events and performances.
Dr. Pritchard did his homework as a trustee. He studied the issues and always wanted to have a clear understanding of an issue so that he could weigh in with confidence. During the last few years he sent me countless articles on topics that impact education – articles that he found while doing his own research or that he simply ran across that he felt may be of interest or benefit to me.
I hope that you will join me in thanking Dr. Pritchard for a quarter century of dedication, service, and support for the children of Weiser and for the Weiser School District.
