Ashley Furniture has over twelve hundred stores across the globe including its Ontario location. Ashley Furniture in Ontario is the seventh store for the company and began around 1999 when they took over the Blackers Furniture store. Between 2003 and 2004 Richard Fitzsimonds became the manager and the name changed to Ashley Furniture. This year they are celebrating twenty years of being in business at the Ontario location.
In 2017 the dreaded “snowmageddon” took out the roof of the then Ashley Furniture store prompting the move to its current location at Westpark Plaza, better known to the locals as the old Emporium. Since the move, the store has been a good fit for the company, as recently they were able to move all their storage and clearance products to that location, bringing everything together in one place once again.
Ashley furniture is a big supporter of the community especially to the children of the community. The furniture store often sponsors school sports teams and other events. Ashley Furniture also sponsors the local college TVCC as well as the annual Festival of Trees, local community members in need and local Veterans. Manager Richard Fitzsimonds shared, “We try to support our communities, not just here in Ontario, but the other cities around us. From Weiser to Payette, Fruitland, Vale and Nyssa. In our little valley here we try to give back as much as we can.”
Fitzimonds shared his thoughts on the store receiving this award stating, “It’s very humbling and honoring at the same time. I think this shows that I have a pretty good group of staff and employees here that take very good care of their customers. It’s those kinds of relationships that are built in the beginning with our sales staff and then ending with our delivery crew that keeps us in business and able to help more in the community.” Fitzsimonds also shared that he was grateful for those who nominated the store for this award.
Congratulations to Ashley Furniture for receiving Business of the Year!
